HOW IT ALL STARTED
A quick look at the menu is all it takes to realise there’s a South African influence going on at the Tailor Made Dining Company, and South Africa is where it all really started.
Ted learned his trade in Durban before working in pubs for Young's in London. Returning to South Africa, he opened and ran several very successful food and beverage ventures in Johannesburg. In 2001, Ted returned to the UK and started his own pub company in 2003.
Dion came on board in 2004. Another South African, Dion had an impressive background working in London restaurants, as well as being a trained butler. Which goes some way towards explaining why good customer service is so high on our agenda.
Today, the Tailor Made Dining Company has five pub-restaurants, including three that offer overnight accommodation. Try one pub, try them all – you’ll get a warm welcome wherever you go. We want you to have a great time and hope that you’ll come back again and again.
